November 17-20

This week in Phonics/Language the children will practice narration with The First Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day.  They will sort objects beginning with h and i into letter tubs, practice writing I and Indian, and draw a picture of an Indian.  We are also planning to read Rainbow Crow, learn a Rainbow Crow song, and have a Rain Dance with drums.

In Nature/Science we will continue to learn about fish, and the children will label the Stages of Development for their Nature Journals.  We are also planning to visit the new baby Guinea Pigs that have just been born (there are 4).

In History we will continue to learn about the Pilgrims and Indians as we read The Thanksgiving Story.

In Bible we will read Thanksgiving Is For Giving Thanks, and the children will take turns sharing what makes them thankful.  We will also practice our memory verse (Psalm 105:1) with motions.

Our Thanksgiving Feast is this Thursday, Nov. 20 at 11:30.  Grandparents are invited to visit our classroom and share our feast. We still need volunteers to bring food for our feast (only 6 have volunteered). The sign–up sheet is in the hall.
