This
week in Phonics/Language we will read Christmas is Coming, How the
Grinch Stole Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, Polar Express,
and The Night Before Christmas.
The children will practice writing in their Nativity Journals and learn
that Jingle Bell Starts with J as they practice writing “J”. We will also practice sequencing.
In
Science we will begin to learn about Sharks and Sawfish.
In
Art, the children will paint Angels, create a Nativity scene with stickers,
paint candles for Santa Lucia, make a Star of David, paint a Santa ornament,
and work on Christmas cards.
In
Social Studies we will learn about Santa Lucia and Hanukkah. We will make Santa Lucia sweet rolls and
headbands and learn “Santa Lucia”. We
will read The Eight Nights of Hanukkah, sing “Eight Little Candles” and
march with a Menorah.In Bible we will read about the birth of our Savior and sing “Away in a Manger,” “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night” and other Christmas songs.
