March 3-6

This week in Nature/Science we will read "Nesting", "Homebuilders", and "Types of Nests" in Exploring Creation. We are also planning to plant Snap Peas into the garden. In Social Studies we will begin to practice narration with Paul Revere, Son of Liberty. In Phonics, we will read "The Three Little Pigs from Great Children's Stories (Classic Volland Edition). We will also begin to work on houses for the pigs (we are planning to act out the story next week). In Music, the children will practice rhythms with instruments as they learn to sing "Frog Went A-Courting" from "Birds, Beasts, Bugs, and Fishes" by Pete Seeger. In Art we will begin a new Audubon picture study of a Baltimore Oriole.
