April 21-24

This week in Nature/Science we will read about Fireflies/Lightning Bugs and learn that they are very special beetles. We will read you Smell With Your Nose and work with Montessori canisters to match a card to the proper smell. We will also begin to read about Perching Birds in our Christian Liberty Nature Reader. We will learn about the Quail. In Social Studies we will continue to read Through the Wilderness. In Phonics/Language we will practice narration with Peter Pan. We will begin to read Horton Hatches the Egg by Dr. Seuss and search for rhyming words. The children will also practice sorting objects beginning with u and v into letter tubs. In Music the children will pretend to be fireflies and will practice moving slowly to Mozart's Piano Concerto No.9 in E Flat Major and quickly to Mozart's Horn Concerto No.3 in E Flat Major with little lights. We will also begin to learn the words to "Glow Little Glowworm.
