The children had a great time acting out The Three Wishes last week. We will continue to act out the story this week. We will also read another version of the story and compare the likenesses and differences. The children will practice making L’s with playdoh and color and sing “Larry Lion”. We will also listen to Chapter 3 (CD) of Robin Hood.
In Nature/Science we will read “A Bees Landing Pad” and “Butterflies” in Exploring Creation. We will visit the garden and water our vegetable plants that are growing. We will also practice pulling weeds and observing the parts of the plants.
In Social Studies we will begin to read about the Renaissance and learn about the process of making Stained Glass.
In Music/Art the children will create a Stained Glass picture with colored cellophane. We will also pretend to be the fairies in The Three Wishes and move with our fairy wings to Monteverdi’s “Canzonetta
In Math, we are planning to count and sort various kinds of nuts and learn their names. We will also practice tracing our numbers 8 and 9.
In Bible, we will read about Lazarus, and learn about how Jesus welcomed the children and helped a woman who reached out and touched him. We are having a great time singing and praising God together each day.
