This week in Phonics/Language we will read “Rumplestiltskin” by The Brothers Grimm and sequence the story. We will also read “The Fox and the Goat , an Aesop fable. The children will practice tracing their letter “Mm” and practice placing objects beginning with l and m into letter tubs. We will also color and sing “Marvin the Monkey” and work with “money” in circle to identify $1, $5, $10, and & $20 bills.
In Social Studies we will read about Martin Luther and learn about stained glass. We will also continue to work on our stained glass creations.
In Science, we will read about Hummingbirds in Exploring Creation.
In Bible, we will read about how a shepherd finds his lost sheep, how Jesus healed the lepers, and how a lost coin is found.
In Art/Music, the children will practice listening and following directions to “Poor Princess Polly” from “Castles, Knights, and Unicorns”. They will also work to paint with tempera on the easel. We are planning to display our paintings at Barnes and Noble next Thursday, January 24 from 4 to 7.
