February 25-28

This week in Nature/Science we will continue to learn about various ways that seeds are dispersed (mechanical, human dispersal). We are also planning to make a Light Hut to use for seed germination. In Social Studies we will continue to read about Christopher Columbus. The children will also work with clay to create an Amphora Vessel. In Phonics/Language we will practice tracing our letter R and listen to a reading of the fourth chapter of Robin Hood (CD). The children will also practice identifying rhyming words as we read Daisy-Head Mayzie by Dr. Seuss. In Math we will continue to practice counting, grouping, and identifying pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. In Bible we will read from Daniel 3 and act out the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego as we learn to stand firm for what is right and true. The children will create a Belt of Truth to wear in class as part of our study of the Armor of God.
