This week in Nature/Science we will begin to read about Seed Dispersal in Exploring Creation. We will also read “Mr. Earthworm at Home” and dig in the garden to search for earthworms. In Phonics/Language we will finish narration with “Little Red Riding Hood” by The Brothers Grimm and act it out. We will use a “quarter” stamp to make a special “Q” and play “Let’s Go Hunting” with the Explode the Code objects. The children will also practice sorting objects beginning with “P” and “Q” into Letter Tubs. In Bible we will learn about the Fruit of the Spirit: Love. We will read stories and poems from Valentines Day and talk about loving our families and friends as we practice fingerplays in circle together. In Social Studies we will paint a picture of Joan of Arc and read about her in The Story of the World. In Music/Art the children will decorate a mailbox for their valentines and create a special picture frame magnet. We will also sing and play “I Have A Valentine Just For You” and “Be My Valentine”. Our Valentine Party is this Thursday, February 14th. Please remember to send 16 valentines to share and mark them with your child’s name.
