October 9-11

This week in Nature/Science we will read “Inside the Seed” and learn about the part of the seed that provides food to the plant. We will learn about Germination and do an experiment with seeds. We will also plant Snap Peas into the garden. In Social Studies we will learn about Serfs and Noblemen and read “In the Garden” from The Romans. The children will paint a picture of a Roman Garden. In Art we will finish making Roman Shields and work on our swords. In Phonics/Language we will color and sing “Elmo the Elephant”. We will continue to practice our recitation of “The Hayloft” by Robert Louis Stevenson. We will begin to read and narrate Robin Hood. The children are having fun in circle as we sing and act out Nursery Rhymes together each day. In Math, we’re planning to create AB and ABB patterns with pumpkins and gourds .in circle. In Bible, we will learn about The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5 and 6). We will also read “The Woodlark” from Fables of Leonardo da Vinci. Our class is preparing a basket for the Raffle at the Fall Fest. There is a sign up sheet in the hall, and we need your help to bring the items by October 18. We’re looking forward to having lots of fun and fellowship with our friends!
