This week in Nature/Science we will read “Germination” from Exploring Creation. We’re planning to plant mustard greens into the garden and collect and categorize acorns. In Social Studies, we will read about Robin Hood and Alfred the Great in Famous Men of the Middle Ages. We will also paint pictures of these famous men. In Math we will work with AB and ABB patterns, review our shapes, and create an obstacle course in the Motor Lab to review our spatial concepts, In Bible, we will read “A Blind Man Sees Again” and “The Good Samaritan” and talk about Kindness. In Phonics/Language, we will continue to sing and recite Nursery Rhymes and act out Jack Be Nimble. We will practice narration with Robin Hood. The children will practice sorting objects beginning with E and F into letter tubs. We’re planning to dot paint E and F and match and stamp pictures that rhyme from Phonemic Awareness Stamp to Learn. We will practice matching the words “yellow” and “blue” with yellow and blue objects. Our field trip to Green Meadows Farm is this Thursday, October 18.
