March 26-28

In Nature/Science this week we will begin to learn about wheels and axels as part of our study of Simple Machines. The children had fun exploring their senses of touch last week with thermic exercises. This week we will work with Montessori textured tablets and textured fabrics. We will read You Touch With Your Fingers.
In Phonics/Language we will practice narration with The Tale of Peter Rabbit. The children will practice sorting objects beginning with W and X into letter tubs. They will learn to play tic tac toe on their little chalkboards. They will also practice identifying rhyming words as we read Horton Hatches the Egg by Dr. Seuss.
In Math we will practice AB and ABB patterns with colored eggs. We will also play a memory game called “Missing Easter Egg”.
In Music/Art we will sing “Peter Cottontail”, “In Your Easter Bonnet”, and “Bunny Hop”. The children will create bunny puppets to use with the songs.
In Bible we will read “Samson Carries the City Doors Away” and “Samson Pulls Down the House” from The Bible in Pictures and practice answering the critical thinking questions at the end of the lessons. We will also read from 1st Samuel 1 and 2 and learn about the birth of Samuel and how he was called by God.
In Social Studies we will read “Icarus and Daedalus from Ancient Myths and Legends.
Our Easter Egg Hunt will be on Wednesday, April 4, at 3:00. Please send an Easter basket and one dozen filled eggs and tape them shut to prevent spills. There will be a sign-up sheet for the party posted in the hall.
