This week in Nature/Science we will read Minerals and paint a picture of rose quartz. The children will pick peas from the garden and sketch the pea plants. They will plant strawberries and tomato plants into the garden and create a sketch of a strawberry plant.
In Social Studies we will read “The Fall” and “Discover” from The Trojan Horse: How the Greeks Won the War. The children will work together to make a Trojan Horse and act out the story.
In Phonics/Language we will review our letters A through V as we play “Find It” with the Explode the Code chart. The children will sort objects beginning with t and u into letter tubs. They will also practice identifying rhyming words as we read Gertrude Mc Fuzz by Dr.Seuss.
In Bible we will read Trumpets and Torches (Judges 7). We will also read “Honesty at Home” from A Child’s Book of Character Building and paint a picture to illustrate the story.
In Music we will learn the words and motions to “In Our Garden”. We will also listen to a Social Story entitled “Use Your Words”.
Spring Break begins next week (March 12-15). Progress Reports will be handed out on Monday, March 19. Have a wonderful holiday!
