Last week the children had a great time acting out and narrating Stone Soup. This week we will listen to a Stone Soup DVD and make the soup.
We were unable to complete our rock investigation last week due to rainy weather. We will read “Looking at Rocks” and “Different Kinds of Natural Rock” from Rocks by Terry Jennings and work on the investigation. The children will also plant cabbage and onions and paint a picture of a cabbage.
In Math we will practice counting and grouping quarters and stamp a letter Q with quarters.
In Social Studies we will read “Ulysses and His Wind Bag” from Ancient Myths and Legends.
In Bible we will read from Joshua 7 as we learn about the battle at Ai.
Our field trip to the Planetarium at UTA is on Thursday, February 2 at 10:30. We will meet at the school at 9:30 and leave at 9:40.
