March 2-5

This week in Phonics/Language we will practice Narration with The 500 Hats of

Bartholomew  Cubbins by Dr. Seuss as we finish reading Dr. Seuss, We Love You in History. The children will make a popcorn “P” and a “Q” with a quarter stamp.

In Math, we will count pennies to equal a quarter and group nickels to equal 25cents.

In Nature/Science we will read “Feeling Colors”, “Octopus Brains”, and “Reproduction” in Exploring Creation.  We will learn about our Sense of Sight as we read “Seeing Eye to Eye”, and the children will attempt to find their blind spot by looking at a chart.  We will read First Delights, A Book About the Five Senses.  We are also planning to examine the large icicles that we collected from the storm and learn about how they were formed.
The children will finish working on their paintings (they are using the Bouquet of Peace by Picasso as inspiration).  Our performance at Barnes and Noble has been cancelled due to weather and will be rescheduled at a later date.
