November 12-15

This week in Nature/Science we will learn about how birds use their muscles and wings to fly. We will also learn about Magnetic Fields as we read “Knowing Where to Go”, and experiment with magnets. In Social Studies, we will continue to learn about the Pilgrims as we read, “On the Mayflower” and “What Would the Pilgrims Take with Them?” We are also planning to begin working on our Indian vests by dipping t-shirts in tea to dye them (be sure to bring a white t-shirt by Thursday morning). In Music/Art the children are doing a great job of practicing their Thanksgiving songs and recitation of “Nest Eggs” by Robert Louis Stevenson. They are also working hard to paint and create little owls. In Bible we will read “Thankfulness at Home” and “Thankfulness at School” from A Child’s Book of Character Building. We will also work on reciting The Lord’s Prayer.
