September 30-October 3

This week in Science we will read “Migration” and “More Metamorphis” in Exploring Creation. We are also looking forward to sharing our favorite experiences from our field trip to the museum. In Social Studies we will read People Who Help Us: Firefighter and I’m Going To Be A Firefighter. The children will also enjoy a presentation by the Dalworthington Gardens Fire Department on Monday. In Math, we will play a shape game in circle and learn the names of several new shapes. We will also work to identify pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. In Phonics/Language we will read and sequence “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” and act out the story. The children will also sort objects beginning with d and e into letter tubs. In Nature/Gardening the children will visit the garden with their clipboards and practice sketching the okra. We will also plant radish seeds into our garden. In Bible, we will read “Patience in the Bible” and “Patience at Home” from A Child’s Book of Character Building as we learn about the Fruit of the Spirit. We are planning a field trip to Country Critters Farm on October 24 at 9:00. Admission price is $7.00 for adults and children. We will eat lunch at the farm.
