March 21-24

This week in Phonics/Language we will sort objects beginning with R and S into letter tubs. We will narrate Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and sequence the story. Next week we will read Stone Soup. In Art the children will create Blob pictures and take turns using their sense of sight to interpret them. We will also make pictures with smelly markers and take turns comparing/smells. In Nature/Science we will read "You Smell with Your Nose". The children will try to match the smell canister (Montessori to the correct picture. We will begin to learn about our bodies, and learn "What makes us smell"? We will read "Smell, Taste, and Touch" in our Christian Liberty Nature Reader. In Gardening we will read Planting a Rainbow and plant flowers into a pot for the atrium. The children will also practice sketching a petunia. In Math we will begin to work with measurement. The children will work with measuring cups and spoons in sticky-sand center. In Bible we will learn about the Fruit of the Spirit: Peace as we read "Talking With God" (Matthew 6:5-15). We will sing "I can Talk to God" and "When We Pray".
