April 7-9

The children did a great job of reciting their poem and singing at Barnes and Noble.  Thanks to all who are able to come and support the school.   If you weren’t able to attend, your child’s artwork is still available to purchase.  It is their version of Picasso’s Bouquet of Peace, and is a framed acrylic on canvas.
In Phonics/Language, we will practice narration with “The Frog’s Unfortunate Fortune” and “Helping Gus Pack His Alligator Bags” from Adventure’s in the Big Thicket.  We will also play “Toss It” with the objects (A through

 S) from the Primary Phonics ABC chart.

In Science we will read “Sea Anemones” and “Corals” in Exploring Creation.  We will also read Life in A Coral Reef.

Our Perennial Garden has begun to sprout and bloom.  We are planning to spend time in the garden observing and sketching the Texas Betany and the Pincushion Plant.  We are also planning to harvest the beets that we planted last September in our vegetable garden.

In Music, the children will play “Merry-Go-Round” with the Parachute.

In Bible, we will begin to read about the Passover in The Beginner’s Bible.

In History we will read “On the Road” and “Factories” in Great Inventions of the 20th Century.
