This
week in Nature/Science we will read about Water worms, Flatworms, and Bristle
worms in Exploring Creation. The
children will create a sculpture of a tubeworm.
We are also planning to plant tomatoes and squash into the garden.
In History, we will read Texas Jack
at the Alamo. We will also read from
When Texas Was a Republic and learn about the Texas Rangers, The
Indians, and everyday life in the Republic.
In Art, the children will sketch the
Comfrey in the Perennial Garden, paint an Indian Paintbrush, and spend time
creating a picture of Guinea Pigs.
In Phonics/Language we will practice
narration with The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush and The Legend of
the Bluebonnet and compare the stories.
We will also review our letters a through v by playing See It/Say It
with Explode the Code objects.
We
are planning a field trip to The Grapevine Sea Life Aquarium on May 14. We will leave the school at 9:15. Admission is $7.00 for children and $10.00
for adults. I will last from 10:30 to
12:00, and we are planning to eat at the Food Court afterward.
