September 29-Oct. 2

This week in Nature/Science we are planning to learn about Seals as we read from Exploring Creation.  The children will work to create a sculpture of a seal.  We will also plant kale and carrot seeds into the garden.
In Phonics/Language we will read Green Eggs and Ham and practice identifying rhyming words.  We are also planning to act out Little Red Riding Hood.
In Art we are planning to paint our whale sculptures and work on a sculpture of a seal.  We will also work on our picture study of “Fishing Boats” on the Beach at Sainte’s Maries” by Vincent Van Gogh.
In Social Studies we will finish our narration of Benjamin Franklin by Edgar Parin d’ Aulaire.

In Bible we will read Luke 19:1-10 and learn about how Jesus was a friend to Zacchaeus. We will play a game called “Being A Friend When It’s Hard” designed to help the children identify and handle negative behaviors.  We will also have a puppet show entitled “How to Be a Friend”.
