Welcome to our class. We’re glad to have you back with us and have many fun activities planned. We will practice our letter “A” this week and begin to read Aesop’s Fables. We will read and narrate “The Wolf and the Goat.”
In Nature/Science we will read The Seasons of Arnold’s Apple Tree. We will begin to learn about Mammals and how they care for their young as we read Animal Dads.
In Math we will practice counting, adding, and patterning with apples, and we will sing and read O-N-E and R-E-D.
In Bible we will explore what it means to make a promise and learn that God keeps his promises to us (Isaiah 38:7). We will read about Noah and play a “Making Promises” game in circle. We will also read The Giving Bear and talk about how Winnie the Pooh kept his promise in the story.
In Music we will learn the names of our new friends as we play “The Name Game”. The children will throw the squishy ball to their friends and listen to Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto in A Major.” We will learn the motions to “Down By the Bay” and the children will also learn “Alligator Pie”.
Please send a complete change of clothes in your child’s backpack each day. Spills often occur, and they will be taking turns watering the garden. They may bring a pillow, blanket, and soft plush toy for rest time (30 min. each day). Please place their snack in the red basket just inside the door. Label it with your child’s name.
